1990 f150 straight 6. When i start it up it starts fine but after a short while maybe 20 or so seconds, it idles down and down and finally just dies.

Just replaced battery cables, but i dont see this as being the culprit. I had this problem a while back but to make a long story short it seemed to go away. Any ideas?
