I hav a '91 f150 5.0 eng. thats been converted from r12 to r134 an was wondering if anybody knows how much freon it would take to charge the system without taking it to a shop.I don't know anything about ac's.
but the system has been down since last year.

Have you vacuumed this system down to 30 psig and let stand for 30 minutes or longer? Fill through the low pressure port only. Mine took 3 cans at 80 degree ambiance temp.
