Default how much does truck performance decrease over time?

I have a 1997 4.6 4x4 with 154000 miles. It runs pretty strong with the 5 speed and quite rusty underneeth. Mainly by the spare tires holder. 2 of the 4 "holders" are rusted off but over all its still pretty solid. I know in 97 it was rated at a tongue weight of 500 and towing of 6000. How much do you think that has decreased since 97?
Thanks

No offense buddy but I think your in the wrong forum. You may want to try posting this question in the late model "97-2003" section. You will pry get better results. Good luck

Regardless of year, do a compression test. No guessing there.

I doubt it has lost that much unless something is wrong. An old engine is a broken in engine.
