Help remove hitch pin lock
Hey all, long time no talk. I have a newer truck now!! I had a quick question about how to remove a hitch pin lock. Pics here:
This is on my 1996 Ford F150. They have added an extension that sticks out alot from the back bumper. I'm concerned in a parking lot here, someone is going to back into it. However I can't remove it because I don't have the key for this. I wanted to see what people's ideas are on how to remove this.
It doesn't look like it can be broken off with a pipe. I drill out arcade/pinball locks with great success, but I can't fit a drill in there. A sawzall I don't have, but it doesn't look like there is enough space either. What do you guys think?

I agree if a cut off wheel can get in there its the easiest other wise if nothing will fit in to cut it, without a torch you might have to remove the hole hitch and cut it. It's hardened so grinding is about the only quick way ,good thing it's not a new gmc or you couldn't use your new tail gate step,it's probably cheaper to go buy a cheap 4" grinder then to pay someone and then you'll always have a grinder, that's my 02 with no smartass remarks .

Window Licker
Had a lock like that on my new used bass boat
A fine blade in a sawzall and yes very lil room but it was doable.. i pulled lock with one hand and got blade cuttin with the otger hand.. surprisingly it only took a minute or two to cut thru that hardened steel

Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys! I gave my floor jack with extension away in tennessee. I was thinking of getting a lead pipe and just trying to break it also.
I've just washed the undercarriage and engine bay, going to let that dry before I get underneath the back. I'll take a picture of what I'm talking about and post it soon.

It's not going to break. If you bend it, it'll be more trouble to cut it. Just cut it first.

2 six packs of beer, a buddy with an angle grinder, some different diameter iron pipes, and 10 minutes later and it's off. Now no one will tear up their knees/shins when I take my mother-in-law to the store.
Thanks everyone!
