Default Help please/ Transmission

I have 96 f150 single cab Eddie Bauer 4x4 with 5.0 (302) and e4 o/d
Had truck for 2 years now
6 months after I got it I noticed a sudden clunk going into R
Went to pass someone later that week at 55 mph, pulled out, floored it, nothing, let off tranny caught up with its self. Been doing it ever since. All gears are there, no lights blinking, new tranny fluid/filter
2 different vss but made it worse til I put the original back on, new mlps too. No help, any ideas at all?

What was the condition (smell/color) of the old fluid? How much metal was on the pan magnet and the size of the metal particles when you dropped the pan? The E40D holds 16 quarts total fluid with pan and converter drain. Is the fluid in the cross hatch area on the trans stick @ hot idle in park? If so, scan the PCM for codes. If you don't have a scanner, swing by your local parts store and have them scan it and post the codes.

fluid was clear/red before and after I changed it, stick reads full, magnet is about 1-1/2 " only metal on it was a few small pieces about the size of a splinter and not many. I assume by the look of the gasket and fluid it was changed before I bought it.
