Unhappy Help please!

Hey All,

I am new to the Forum and not a good mechanic at all.

Here is what happened:

I replaced the Fan Clutch on my truck but it got caught in the fan cover and stopped spinning. Now it turns freely like when it was busted before I put the new one on. I took it off and when I did it firmed up . There is a shaft that it connects to (I think its the water pump) could I have possibly burned out whatever it was connected to? Any help would be REALLY appreciated.

Jimmie

I burned out the Fan Clutch. I took it back, got a replacement and we are back in business.

Catching on the fan shroud should never happen, unless the shroud is moving around, or you have a broken motor mount, neither of which is a good thing.

Hi Eric,

I did not place the shroud on correctly. It was my fault.
