Default Help identify carb

Hi all, established that my truck is a bit of a Frankenstein, 1987 302 converted to carb. I’m planning on rebuilding the carb but need to know I’m buying the proper kit to do so. Big Holley double pumper with mechanical secondary by the look of it. No choke tower either. It’s marked P32 on one side and R5 on the other with 172 on the throttle blades. On the baseplate it’s very faint but looks like 434-3, can’t make out the first few digits. I’ve tried measuring the venturis and I’m getting 1 11/16 at the base and looks like 1 1/2 at the narrowest point. Anyone point me in the right direction.

Try shopping for carbs that fit, as if you were going to buy one now.

The guys on this site were apparently trying to identify the same carburetor as yours: https://www.theturboforums.com/threa...y-carb.381629/

There were a couple votes for R4777 (4150) 650 CFM double pumper. This site will give you more info on that particular carb: https://documents.holley.com/techlib...al_listing.pdf

I would look for a Holley rebuild kit online, dismantle your carburetor and closely compare the gasket sets and all accoutrements.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks Jeff, I had to do a lot of reading and sussed out it was a larger capacity 4150. I’ve got it soaking in degreaser as we speak and my rebuild kit was delivered about an hour ago so I’ve a job for the weekend.
