i got my self a 89 f150 4.9 2wd tryin to fix the electrical jus got a new starter n selinoid but still not start from the key have to jump wire it any ideas?

when you turn the key, does it turn over? try to turn over? click? or nothing at all?

all that happens is it powers up wont kick starter

Alot of the times its the ignition switch... ... On all of my trucks that body style... I had a push button start...Was tired of messing with that crap.

I had a broken push rod, the one that actuates the ignition switch, the switch itself was fine!
