Have a 96 302 in great condition, 32pounds of fuel pressure at the fuel rail, spark plugs are firing....will run on carb cleaner just not on it's own, any sensors I need to check?

 

The injectors spraying fuel into the engine?

 

Check for codes. I need a hot key on my phone to send that message automatically.

 

My 96 Explorer 302 uses a camshaft position sensor to inform the computor to fire injectors. It is located where the distributor used to be located, a special tool is required to mess with this thing. Bottom line, all said and done, its not that bad of a job.

 

I had a buddy with a 86 f150 with the 302, and he had the exact same symptoms and would run on carb cleaner, and it was the fuel pump

 

Fuel pressure should be 35-45 psi
