ive been having issues with my truck:
1995 F150 with automatic
5.0 Liter
when bought it was running ok but would periodically die (no signs of why, mean it didnt miss or lose power, would just shut off and restart) so I started replacing components. it has remote mounted ign module so i replaced that, still had issue so i changed coil. still having trouble and it was getting more frequent i changed distributor (whole unit). would start and run for like 20 seconds then die and had to wait a while before would start again. Again would run for like 20 seconds. I got tired and frustrated so i went and bought new ECM and same issue. So despite my better judgement i took it to a shop here, Zechin Motors (dont use them) and he first told me it was ECM but then he did a bunch of testing and said otherwise. He then decided to change distributor because he said it ws bad. In doing so he dropped the oil pump drive rod down in the pan so i got stuck with a bill of $70 and he broke the exhause collector bolts off when he pulled the motor to retrieve the pump rod. When i got it back it wont start at all. Any ideas, and yes he said he did put the rod back in and replaced the oil and pan gasket. I towed it away from there. They had it for two weeks and only worked on it for about an hour besides when he had to drop pan to correct his mistake. Yes i did inform them of all the parts i put in brand new and also told him after all was installed truck did run a nd drive for about three blocks then died and after letting it sit for a couple hours it started and drove a couple more blocks. sorry for lenghty description but i know as somebody who works on cars the more information you have the easier to diagnose.
