I need a diagram for the charging system! everytime i try and hook up my alt. it fries the voltage regulator.somethings bckwds or shorting out somehow. so,.....heeeellllpppp!!!!!

 

Need to know the year and motor to get an accurate diagram

What "voltage regulator"?

 

the one thats built into the back of the Alt.

 

Just makin sure. So have you tested output?

 

Ok this may sound like a stupid thing to check...but make sure your battery cables are on correctly. No I'm not kidding...happened on a loader we bought. I dont have a clue how the starter even worked but it sure fried the alt.
