Default Headlight switch problem

1994 Extended cab, 5.8, E40D......... Headlight switch issue. Pull the **** halfway out and the parking lights come on as expected. Pull it out all of the way for the headlights and parking lights and the headlights come on, but the parking lights go out. Replaced the switch with two used switches and they did the same thing. Purchased a new switch and it still does the same thing. Was told by the owner that there was a burned wire on the switch so he replaced part of the harness as well. No fix. Same issues.

Any ideas?

DRL: daytime running lights.

Sounds like there is a burned positive wire going into your switch.
