Default headlight problem

I just put new headlights on my truck because the originals were very dirty and I couldn't get them clean, no matter what I used or how hard I scrubed. Now I'm putting LED bulbs in for my turn signals, but when I turn the headlights on and use the turn signal with the LED bulb, it doesn't want to work. Does anyone know what's going on? I've tried a resistor and I've tried switching the bulbs, but it still doesn't work. Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!!!

have to get a new flasher unit if you use LED bulbs. The LED bulbs don't draw enough current to make the stock unit function properly
