Headers Question
I have 1991 f-150 with the 5.0 and have been running the fox body headers for years now. The biggest difference will be the fact the 5.8 has a taller deck height and as a result the headers will be about an inch higher at the collector. When I did the 351 swap on a mustang the ford motorsport swap headers collectors were lower to address this point.
There seemed to be quite a bit of room where they exited on the truck and I would assume the 5.8 wouldn't be much different. You need to have some custom work done to mate up your "Y" pipe but it's fairly close. I used them because there is such a huge selection of headers to use and you can find much better deals on the mustang stuff.
In short I think you'll be just fine with some exhaust work to make the "Y" pipe fit.

I have a 91 302 small block ford F-150 RWD, I have attempted to install Pacesetter shorty headers to my stock Cat and the flanges didn't match up. The aftermarket flange was too big for my stock pipe. Anyone know the inlet diameter of cat pipe, or outlet diameter of the OEM headers? I want to upgrade headers since my stock ones are cracked, but cant figure out the size of outlet diameter needed to fit into my Y pipe..
Any insight?
