you can do them, as long as you know how to drill and tap. It is common for these bolts to break, but if youre careful you could get lucky. Heating the bolts (whether through a torch or cranking the engine) is gonna be a huge help, along with some PB blaster. When trying to take the bolts out and you feel the head of the bold twisting but the body not, immediately back off and try tightenint it back a little and loosening again. I wouldnt take it to a shop unless they give you a good firm price BEFORE doing the job, because they could charge you a ton for all the extra hours spent drilling and tapping when the bolts break. They arent very careful when taking out the bolts, they usually just crank on them with an impact wrench which makes it very easy to break them.

breaking the bolts is my biggest concern. i've never had to drill and tap anything before. im fairly positive i got aluminum ones from mr gasket. i've got a full can of pb blaster im gonna start soaking them tomorrow. will driving with that stuff on there be a fire hazard or anything like that? i wouldnt think so, but better to not have another one of my trucks go up in flames lol
