Default head unit wiring

When you buy a radio harness for a 1987-91 model, do all of them have the two clips for the truck end of the harness, and the same clip for all head units on that end? In more simple form... are they universal for a model year?

I picked one up for my truck and the harness had two rectangular plugs. Got home and the truck had one rectangular and one square plug. :-(

I don't get stuck. I just lose traction and stop moving!

Someone sold you the wrong one. Take it back and get the right one.
