Default Head gasket question....

Hey guys, okay, my dad and I got done a few days ago replacing the intake manifold gaskets in my 87 302. Unfortunately, it is still leaking coolant. There's no coolant in the oil, so what is going on? We got a good seal on the intake manifold gaskets, so it's not one of them. My main question is on this engine, can a blown head gasket leak coolant to the outside while not leaking into the oil?

Thank you in advance.....

Ben

It surely can, yes. Just make sure it's not your timing cover or thermostat first.
Only bright spot is that your intake should come undone easy now if you're going after head gaskets.
Suggest you hunt up some new exhaust manifold bolts beforehand.

Whatever cylinder misfires......pull coil cold....is there coolant in the spark plug well (leaking intake)?

Pull plug and look in cyl with scope.....if there coolant in cyl......it could be hg or intake.....but intake would require leaking past 2 seals to get into intake runner..(coolant passage and runner)......is less likely.....but intake can be cracked too

I did leakdown test on cyl with air at tdc.....it vented into coolant at 35 psig and overflowed coolant bottle
i could hear bloop.....bloop.....bloop

You've dug up a thread that has been dead 7 years. I'd bet he either figured it out almost 7 years ago, or he got rid of it by now.
