got some water in my oil, and i am assuming the HG but the local shop said could be the intake mani gasket. trucks a 92 f150 4x4 302 w/94000 miles. how do i tell if its the HG ir the Intake gasket. is the compression test the only way?

Block testing the radiator will differentiate between HG and intake failure. HG will allow exhaust gasses into the coolant, intake will not. Most auto parts stores will loan the block tester but you must purchase the chemical solution that it uses, something like $10-15 last time I got one.

Very hard to say definitively. At 22 years old it's got to be just about due for HG sometime soon either way.
If you plan for head gaskets you're gonna get the intake gaskets on your way by.
Other than the exhaust manifold bolts, you'll have done the hardest part of a head gasket job by the time you get the intake off anyway.
