I've broke quite a few lose with just a breaker bar and a short extension & socket. On torquing it back I may be wrong but I dont think a 302 will torque at 150ft lbs a 4.9 does but a 302 is more around 90ft lbs.

Agreed, 302 is definitely not 150 ft/lbs

Default harmonic balancer

Just checked the book on the torque specs for the 302. It is 100 to 130 lbs. ft. I was using my old Pontiac torque specs. just off the top of my head. Always good to look in the book first. LOL..........Ernie

I did this on several jeeps in my life.. It actually works GREAT! just tap the key into start and it will become instantly lose.

Default Crank Bolt

I used a strap wrench last night that I just bought at Harbor Frt. The strap ripped while I was holding it with my weak left arm and using my right on the breaker bar. Didn't get the bolt off either. Luckily I saved my receipt to return the wrench. Either it's a POS or I'm more badass than I thought. Since I don't have a helper, I was going to pull the flywheel bolt and use it to hold some plumbers strapping attached to the inspection cover bolt. Would that work????
