Angry Hard Shifting issues!!

1995 F150 truck
5.0L
Automatic, 4R70W transmission

Truck won't shift or will shift hard from 1-2 and 2-3...
after some research i heard the the accomulator springs could be bad..
I had already replaced the fluid, filter and shift solenoid.. none of those helped the issue...
now that I got the pan off and the Valve body off..
I checked the 1-2 spring and piston, the spring looks ok (lower pink dye and upper yellow dye), the piston does have some scratch marks on one side from wear...
Now, since the spring looks ok, could that be the issue?
should I replace it anyways?
should I also replace the EPC, could that also be the issue?

I'm tired of oppening this thing up as you guys know that it is very messy!!

side note:
my dad took the truck to a mechanic and it didn't have any issues.. after we got it back, it had all kinds of issues.. and ofcourse.. the guy was trying to change anything and everything.. the last thing he wanted to change was the ECU, so my dad gave him the boot.. truck was running bad, and I replaced the ECU with one from the yard.. well, that fixed most of the issues exept the transmission issue, I got it from another F150, but I think that one had the 5.8l Not the 5.0L, it was an automatic also and same year.

There are no codes/ engine light on! but than, I have not driven it that much because of the issue..
Thanks in advance!

Also.. I've seen some "shift kits" available for around $80, would that be a smart chice and will it have everything i need?

did the f150 you got the ECU from have the 4r70w trans as well, or did it have the e4od?

i'm not sure which transmission it had... didn't really look, didn't realize they came with 2 different transmissions.. until i did more research.. I was thinking about replacing the TCC and the EPC, since the springs look ok..

just checked my local yard, their inventory shows a '95 on the lot, i'll check it out tomorrow to see it if its the same engine/transmission convo.. whats the best way to check which transmission it has?

20 bolt long pan = E4OD.
14 bolt square pan = C6.
14 bolt semi square pan with METRIC stamped on it = 4R70W
