Default Ground cable location

Where should the ground cable from the battery be attached on the block? After the head/intake swap, the truck doesn't want to start, despite the battery having sufficient charge and a brand new starter. I'm thinking I may have forgotten a ground reattachment in the process?

Thanks!
Collin

On my 302 its on the passenger side of the block, towards the front below cylinder 1 and 2. If there was a smog pump, it would be right behind it.
