Default Greetings and salutations

Hi hi

My name's Mike, and I'm an addict.

Well, not really. Years ago I made kids (all 3 of them) a deal - whatever money they saved up, I'd match it for their first vehicle. My two boys have taken me up on that offer. The 15 year old has went with a Nissan 240sx a few months ago and we've been working on that off and on. My youngest (14 - we call him BMan) had a couple hundred saved up from working yards around the neighborhood and birthday and what not, and when a 1993 F150 4x4 popped up for sale for only 1,000 it was too good to pass up, so we jumped on it and he's working off the difference for the truck.

He's planning on restoring it and doing some minor mods. It'll be a fun little project.

So here's the pics:

The tailgate was stolen a few years ago, the prior owner said. It's a detroit built truck that lived in Michigan until they moved down in the mid 90's. We're now the second owner. As you can see, there's a bit of work that needs done but the truck is really solid with 128k miles or so on a 4.9 liter v6.

I'll keep this thread updated with the little things as we do it. If anyone has any input or ideas, please let me know. I can turn a wrench but I'm not a mechanic by any means. Looking forward to the fun and frustration

Welcome to the site...that red interior is in pretty decent shape. It's a 300 inline 6 by the way.Looks like it's also got the E4OD transmission as well. Feel free to ask any questions you might have....the 300's are hard to kill.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions. There's some vacuum hoses and things I have no idea what they're for but they're cracked and dry rotted... but the truck runs. /shrug

I'll post pics with questions as they come up if the Chilton's manual doesn't answer them Pre-emptive thanks for the help
