Default Glitch only in transit.

Truck can idle for hours on end and drive all day in every gear just fine, but when I'm cruising around 50mph in 5th gear I seem to lose power or voltage or something. I'll be driving and all of a sudden all my gauges die and throttle doesn't work and then everything is fine. Usually only lasts for a second or two, but this afternoon it lasted for about 5 seconds. No throttle response no gauge functions no check engine light no jolt or kick. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds almost like you're losing the main power feed from the battery - causing the ECU to cut out.

Start at the battery, checking and cleaning connections - a wiring schematic will help you trace the cabling from battery positive onwards - look for signs of internal corrosion in cables (greenish crud at connectors) or external damage. If all seems OK then perhaps there's an intermittent heat-related fault on the ECU itself.

Hopefully, someone else will come along to chime in with 2c worth...
