Default Which gear ratio?

I am planning on 33's or 35s soon. I use the truck for cruising and stuff, 55 mph+, and I use it to pull farm equipment around (wagons, trailers ect.) What would the ideal ratio be? I don't want it to be a dog, but I want decent mileage from her on the highway. I have the 4.9l 5 speed, with 3.55's. thanks guys!

Mines a 4.9 with 35s and 3.55 gears, 4 speed manual. I have no problems hauling, highway, crawling, 4wd. It seems a little doggy once in awhile, but not enough to justify changing the gear set.

Is your 4 speed the one with granny or without it?

I'd go with a 3:73 with limited slip/locking differential. Probably cheaper and won't kill the mileage as much as 4:10s

My 3.55s have LS, and I love it, so no matter what size gears I get I was going to go LS on them.

T18 with a granny 1rst. I always start off in 2nd on the street and use granny sometimes when out in the field.

Well if you start out in second, then it should be no problem starting out in 1st with my 5 speed. If I go with 33's it would be really good with 3.55's then right?

Well, I lied, my truck came from the factory with 3.55ls, but someone swapped it for 3.08's So now I know I will need to change gear ratios with bigger tires. What is the ideal gear for 33's? how about 35's? I want to pull wagons and trailers with this truck occasionally, but It will mostly be highway and city driving.
