so i just finished up removing my intake manifold and heads. i want to make sure im doing everthing properly before i start to reassemble. i know i shouldnt use any gasket maker on my head gaskets. should i / do i have to use i it on my other gaskets i.e. - intake manifold,plenum,egr, etc etc.? if so what kind. everyone always says the blue permatex. i use the brown permatex. i think its number 1. also what kind of gaskets should i put gasketmaker on?
is it easier to put the heads on first and then the intake manifold or should i put the manifold on first and then the heads?

lastly - any tips on cleaning the tops of my piston and the piston chambers of the block?
