Default Gas tank issues

Hi, my front tank died on me, so figured it was a pump. I started taking off the bed to get at the tank. When I pulled off the gas cap on the front tank it started pouring gas out... Any idea what causing the issue?

Since you mention a front tank, assuming you have duals.

Further guessing that you found this problem when the engine died, or similar. So would tend to agree the fuel pump isn't pumping right, but not necessarily meaning it's bad.

Suggest the overflow problem is related to the selector valve not working, which may be the result of the return being directed to the wrong tank...AND/OR, somehow blocking the fuel pump flow.

Further suggest to roll the key to On to listen whether the fuel pump can be heard/felt charging the line for its two-second prime.

IMO, if nothing heard, chase the fuel pump, if something heard, would be looking at the selector valve.

BUT - and a big BUT - will gladly defer to those who have actually dealt with two-tank problems. :-)
