gas tank
i have a 1993 flareside that i need to replace the gas tank on, and i'm not sure on which one to get. it's 16 gallons, but it isnt side mount like the shortbed's are, its flat and mounts behind the rear axle. i can't seem to find a 16 gallon flat mount one. i dont really want to order one from ford, since i don't have the money to order one from ford directly. if anyone could help me figure out which tank i have it would be greatly appreciated.

ok, but just out of curiousity, is it a 16 with a 2-3 gallon reserve? b/c i usually fill up when the gauge is at 1/4, and i almost always put in just over 12 gallons.

Here's a link to the tanks on our site for your truck. We also carry new straps too if you need them.

my rear tank on my flareside is rusted out too and i have decided to do the bronco tank mod. when i pull my bed, i will remove my tank and get a bronco 33 gallon tank and whatnot, build a new crossmember, relocate spare, and cringe when i put 45 gallons in at once lol

The gas tank is called a "aft-axle tank". When I replaced the fuel pump in mine, they asked if my tank was a 18 or 19 gallon. I had no idea, so I matched the fuel pumps up. Come to find out, mine was a 19 gallon tank.
