Default Fuel tank size and float help!

Is there any way to get a fuel float unstuck without dropping the tank. Also is there a way of telling what size the tank is. Its a 96 f150 xl northland edition if that means anything. The front gauge is pined way over full. Yesterday for some reason I was leaking gas from around the hole where the fuel pump goes into the tank. It was just way over full before this the gauge was working perfect but if I gotta drop the tank I'm gonna replace the pump and float while I have it down. I see there are two options one is a 19 gallon and the other is 16 or 17. I can't remember for sure.

Longbox truck takes the bigger of the 2 front (midship) tank options.
It sounds like it may be crossfilling - leaking into the front tank when the rear is being used - which usually means the check valve in the front tank is leaking. That would require a new front tank pump module.

Now that you say that it does make sense. I was running off the rear tank when all of this came about. So till I have the money to fix it maybe just run off the front and leave the rear be? Right now its about half full.

You can run the back one a bit after you run the front one down a ways, but your pressure is bound to be low running on the rear tank because pressure is bleeding off into the front one.
Best to maybe just run the front for now and keep the back one for emergencies until you get it fixed.
