Default Fuel pumps

Hello all I need some help finding the right parts.
I recently replaced the tanks and fuel pumps in my dual tank 1991 f150 xlt lariat. For general info it is 2 wheel drive with the 5.0 motor. After replacing the pumps im having an issue with the pumps moving fuel from tank to tank rather than to the motor. After some research I think the issue is the pumps not having the shutter valve or similar valve that prevents this cross feed from happening. Does anyone know what pumps I do need to have in the truck, or where exactly to find them? I finally got all the electrical fixed and I'm eager to get this project running.
thank you all

When you replaced everything, was it just the pumps, or the whole hanger assembly. And yeah, if there is cross filling, then there is some issue with the check valve that each assembly should have. What brand of pumps did you buy? Most of the aftermarket pumps on the market now are kind of junk.

I replaced the pumps and hanger assembly in both tanks just to be safe. They were drive motive pumps I believe. Not great brand name stuff. After this issue occurred I did some research on the pumps and found that they did not have the proper valve even though they said they would fit in the truck, guess that doesn't necessarily mean work for the truck. If you know of any good sites to get oem direct replacement parts it would be a huge help. This is the only thing I have left to fix on the truck for it to run properly.

You should put ALL the truck's details into your signature as this page explains:

Replacing parts "just to be safe" is not safe, as you've just learned. The best parts are the original parts, until they're due on the maintenance schedule (pumps are not) or they fail (you didn't mention if there was any problem with the previous pumps). So keep the original Ford parts as long as possible, and the truck will run better. Some of my '93-97 trucks still have their factory coolant hoses.

When any part needs to be replaced, always buy the BEST replacement - not the cheapest, or the easiest to find, or the quickest... Cheap parts are more expensive than quality parts.

Very few of the OEMs for these trucks still produce parts for these trucks, but the fuel pumps are an exception. Bosch still makes them under its own brand, and until recently was still making them under the Ford/MC brand. All '90-96 gas pickups use the Bosch 67000 in the front tank and 67003 in the rear. But only buy those made in USA - not from Brazil. NAPA has them, but shop around.

thank you for the advice and parts , it is greatly appreciated. Both of the pumps were bad as were the tanks. The truck had been sitting for quite a while when i purchased it and they were rusted through and gummed up beyond fixing.
