Default Fuel Pump

I need a new in tank fuel pump for my 89 302 single tank. I do not want to do this twice. Are there any pumps recommended over others? I replaced the rail mounted one and it didn't last but that doesn't require as much work. Thanks. Jim

If you want the best, get a Ford OEM pump. Runners up, Carter or Bosch. Stay especially clear of Spectra and Airtex.

OE Ford is long ago discontinued.

When mine needed replacement I went with a Motorcraft direct replacement. It did cost much more but many of the aftermarket fuel pump brands for our trucks have a well deserved bad reputation.

That's why I mentioned alternatives. I wasn't sure.
