Well I found the fuel line between the pump and filter got kinked when I reinstalled the tank. I think that is the problem, but I can't find a replacement. It appears that the supply line is connected to the return line and another line, maybe the vent. Anybody know where I might could find one?

Wrecking yard. Those are stainless steel lines so most should be ok. The supply line can be separated from the return and vent lines, they're just held together with plastic clips, And both return and supply lines split at the filter area to make a front section and a rear section.

These lines actually appear to be nylon or something. I went ahead and cut the 90 degree quick connect off, it was bent right at the fitting. I'm going to see if the parts house has something i may could use to repair it.

Just wanted to follow up and let yall know that the fuel line seemed to fix the problem. Autozone had a piece of fuel line that came with the quick connector on the end. Installed it, cut the damaged part off, and coupled old to new.

Ok. So the problem is certainly not fixed. It was running bad so i put a guage on it last night and fuel pressure was only about 26-28 psi with the KOEO. Pulled the return line off the FPR and jumped the pump, 26-28 psi with nothing going back to the tank. Doesnt even get above 30 psi with the engine idling and the vacuum off the FPR. Looks likr I'll be dropping the tank again unless somebody has a different idea.

I think I finally fixed it. Put a gauge directly on the pump and only had 26 psi. Warrantied the pump out. Put the new pump in, plugged the connector up, hooked up the gauge and couldn't get the pump to come on. Fixed a damaged wire, but still nothing. Checked voltage at the connector and only had about 6.5 volts. I had a relay laying around, so I replaced it, even though I could hear it clicking, and the pump started. Ran right up to about 45 psi.

Default in tank fuel pump

Hi, I have a 1989 f150 4.9 I6 300. I'm having problems with my in tank fuel pump. Have replaced lots of new parts including inline fuel pump, and now the in tank fuel pump. I'm not getting any power to in tank pump. However when wired it straight to the battery, the pump came on. Can anyone help me with figuring out why I have no power?

Have you checked the inertia switch? If I recall correctly it is in the area near the right kick panel near the glove box. If it is tripped the button will be up. You can reach over the edge and feel for it, panel should be able to be left in place.
