Default front end rattle

hello everyone, ive noticed a small problem for a while. my front end, driverside only rattles in a way while goin along whenever i hit a small bump or really any thing that will shake the tire a lil bit. i have new brake pads so i think it could possibly be the brakes rattling because when i press the brake pedal the rattle stops but if i let off if will rattle again. i have new wheel bearings and shocks. im hoping it is not the ball joints. i have heard before that sometimes the bottom side mount for the shock can be loose enough that it rattles the shock but i dont know that for a fact. anyway its a 1991 2wd long bed with 110,356 miles. i do have larger than factory tires, 31X10.50r15. any ideas?

It might be your ball joints 1991 was awhile back there. If you havent had them replaced before then it might be that, especially if youve been running larger tires. I bought my truck used with 35's and wnet down a size cause the shop i had it at said they were having problems with the alignment. I hope its not cuz that a pain but if you are having any play in the steering wheel you might wanna get the front end checked out

Did you put the brake pad anti rattle clips? Also the lower shock eye will rattle, if you can twist it a little, take an impact gun and tighten the nut up, it will squeeze the bracket closer to the eye and stop it from rattling.

The only time mine was ever rattling when I went over a little bump or so was when my u joints on my axles, the caps blew off and the u joints were loose in the yoke causing a rattling noise.
