Default Fried stereo!!!!

I turned on my truck today and my radio started smoking before I even got a chance to turn up the volume. Its only like 3 mnths old, anyone know what couldve caused this to happen? Oh and I dont have any subs or amps hooked up but its still got all the wiring from the previous owner

Grab a multimeter and a test light and start checking your wiring. Only the ground wire should measure continuity to the body (-12v) and only the power lead and memory lead and perhaps dimmer controll if you have one, should read positive. I would start with the burned wires.
