Just thought I'f let everyone know the Eddie Bauer side-mirrors will fold. We have an 1993 Eddie Bauer Bronco, but looking at photos on google it looks like the same mirrors were used on the F-150s.

Long story short, we need to drop the transmission to replace a seal and couldn't get the Bronco to fit through a barn door cause the mirrors stuck out too far. We tried folding the passenger mirror but it was really stiff and felt like it would break if forced. We ended up taking the it off and parked it.

After doing some research, it turns out the mirrors do fold, just add some wd-40 to the hinges, let it sit for 10 min and they fold with ease. Here's a pic with the mirror reinstalled.

I think they're supposed to fold, but 20 years of rust in the snow/salt belt and it's pretty rare around here. Nice to see them doing what they're supposed to do though. Maybe I'll start soaking a spare set of mirrors I have. Not that I've had to worry about folding them, but it would be nice to know I can.

Before soaking a new set, I would try to get the ones on the vehicle to fold. We took the passenger side off, but the drivers side we just put the spray straw into the hinge cracks and it broke free almost immediately. I'm sure it's been at least 10 years since they've moved and this Bronco had a short time as a beach vehicle. I'm cringing from potential rust issues. As of now the frame is solid and the body looks good, but it the undercarriage looks like it could just blossom holes.

I know this is an old thread but thanks to OP for posting this. Mine are froze and I wondered if a little WD40 or PB Blaster would help.

PB Blaster or other penetrating oil. WD40 is just silicone - makes things slippery but useless for breaking up rust.

Thanks Chris. I used PB Blaster and it worked. Mirrors will fold in now.
