The lightnings have 4.10 gears, GT40 heads, GT40 intake, 65mm tb and headers, instead of manifolds. They also have a different suspension, which is more for handling compared to a standard F150.

will the gt 40 heads on a explorer v-8 work. what about the explorer intake? will the 4r70w hold up to the added hp and torq? also what about a 75mm tb? will a mustang tb work?

The explorer GT40's will work.. The explorer intake will also work with some modifing. Might have to figure something out for accelator cable and cruise control cable. Could use set up from a lightning and run intake same way as lightning. If you run everything like the lightning, the mustang TB will work. The75mm TB might be a tad big for the set-up but will work. And the 4r should hold up to that.
