a few different problems, need some advice
Problem #1 I'm receiving code 33 egr valve fault/not closing properly KOEO and KOER. Also I checked the egr vacuum solenoid, the filter just crumbled in my hand. Whats the most likely thing wrong? just a bad valve? or could the egr vacuum solenoid have something to do with it?(I inspected all of the vacuum lines everything appears to be hooked up right, and no cracks/broken lines)
Problem #2 a/c compressor's locking up when it engages, i charged it with some r12 over the summer and it worked great..guess it just died now?
Problem #3 Power steering gearbox is leaking at the shaft where the pitman arm connects. Could a rookie handle replacing the seals in the gearbox, and what all is involved with removing the gearbox and installing new seals.
1989 ford f150 5.0 5 speed

Ya I think I'm just going to change the egr valve and egr solenoid just to be safe. If I can get the right tools maybe I can tackle the power steering gearbox..damn trucks got basically one of everything new...lol
if it were me i would replace the gearbox for the steering with a used one. those things don't usually go out on anything.
i would get the egr valve off and try cleaning it with brake cleaner or carb cleaner.
i would buy them 2 things used. as far as the ac, i would have to say your lucky yours worked at all lol. if its locking up its the pump. i would unplug the power to it. either that or they make a replacement pulley on a bracket you can mount in its place
