F150 starting problems
well winter is almost here and i needed a truck for the snow. a buddy of mine has an F150 with the inline 6 cyl for 300 bucks. i'm considering buying it but i cant keep it running. most of the time it wont start at all but once in awhile it will start up and run great for about 3 seconds then it will die out. the truck has been sitting for awhile. The Fuel pump is definitly working. Im not sure what could be wrong with it. at first i thought it was out of gas but i put 2 gallons in just to see if that was the problem and it wasnt. i'm not too sure where to go from there. maybe it needs more gas?? if anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong, please give me your input. i really like this truck and i'd love to buy it haha.

For $300, it sounds like a challenge worth undertaking if it is that close to lighting off.
First, need to know a little more - model year, options (dual tanks?, etc.), what you've tried so far (in detail).

its a 1989 f150 with a single tank. it has 4 wheel drive, ac, power windows, power locks. i went down to the garage where its at today and i got it running. the truck was sitting for almost 2 years and it runs like new. no smoke, no leaks. the only thing thats wrong with it now is the box needs to be patched up and the rear brakes are seized up. thanks for the help anyway :-D:-D
