Default Extra Hole

I have a 93 F150 with the 5.0 and she has 143K I pulled the water pump because it was leaking water and I found this hole in the timing chain cover. I searched and found that this does occur from time to time but I really dont have the time to replace all that stuff. It doesn't appear to be leaking oil so do I need to replace it?

is there an extra cost for the extra hole?

That's letting dirt, rain, & everything else into the crankcase. If you can't plug it (as with weld or JBWeld), the timing cover needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the input, I just realized that the timing chain is behind all that and I have ordered the parts to replace it all.
