Default Exhaust question

My truck is running single to duals with the catalytic converter, no muffler, and echo tips. I don't care much for the sound, but I know when I have it started lol. I plan on removing the cat and going with headers and a 40 series flowmaster. Anyone else have a similar setup? Is it worth removing the converter or should I go with a high-flow? Thanks.

I'd go with a hi-flow cat. The popo won't like it if you get caught without a cat. I'd have to agree with the flowmaster, though - you'll still know when you start the truck, but you'll be glad you know.

i would take the catalytic converter cut the top side of it out and remove the inside and weld a pic of pipe throw it and then weld the top back up (works for mvi but i dont think it would pass most smog test)

The converter wont be a problem with police here in Oklahoma. They're pretty lenient when it comes to vehicle mods, and we don't have emission inspections anymore. Lucky me.

im runnung a flowmaster super44. the cat happens to be punched out. the outlet on the cat is a 2 1/2 that i have necked up to a 3 in. into the muffler. then a 3 in. pipe. exits the side right in front of the tire. sounds really spectacularly awsome!!!!!i would suggest taking the cat off if oklahoma doesn't care. i would have to run a cat if it hadn't been fur having connections.
