I don't know how I messed up like that lol. I'll plug that hole then and put the manifold back on to see how it runs. I'll check the O2 sensor also just to make sure it's in good shape. Thanks a lot

That does make a difference lol. You've got yourself a 96 manifold there, which will work fine once you put a bung in the sensor hole.

Awesome ! I got the manifold back on today and it was 100 times more quit than before lol. Seriously though I could actually here the exhaust now instead of all the noise that was probably coming from that hole. The truck sounded great and was really steady. I haven't gotten a chance to get it on the road yet because I'm still going to do some more work on it so it's still jacked up. Thanks a lot for your help guys. I have a couple more question though. Could I run them through you guys first or should I just start a new thread ?

Ok, so my truck makes a ticking sound when I accelerate. I searched it up online and there were some people that had the same thing going. Some said that they changed the egr and that was it. Is this the egr in the picture ? Also, I noticed some smoke coming from there yesterday.

I am late to the party, but that is an aftermarket exhaust manifold on your truck and that hole should be plugged up.

Yes that is your EGR valve that your posted a picture of. Be sure to soak that big bottom nut with penetrating oil prior to trying to remove it. Also, from time to time, the tube running to the EGR valve can get a hole in it.

It wasn't too hard. We took the tire and wheel well liner off, it made it a lot easier to work on. The bolts on my manifold weren't all that difficult to loosen up but there were a couple that we heated with the torch.
