Default Exhaust?

Ok i got a 96 f-150 302 and right now it has longtube headers (witch are not made for my truck cause i look up every single long tube headers for 302 and they stop at 1995) then to a Y pipe, then the cat then a 18in glasspack then dual out behind the back tires with tips.

What i want to do is get some shorty headers from LMC trucks that is for my 302 and for the 1996 model and basically put stock Y pipe for the truck a cat and a flowmaster.

what i want to also know is the flowmaster 40 series one of the louder series from flowmaster and would it be louder then the 18in glasspack? and does any one have a 40 series on a 302 cause i would like to hear it.

any ideas would be appreciated.

the shorties from LMC http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/full.aspx?Page=102 (part number is 48-6172)

and the stock Y pipe for 1996 model http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/full.aspx?Page=104 (part number is 48-5598)

40 series delta flow is made for cars that use catalytic converters, but I'm not sure which one would actually be louder. The 40 series claims to have the classic muscle sound... No it wouldn't be louder than a glasspack, different, maybe even better, but not LOUDER.

Are you sure the long tubes arent for your year? summit racing has three sets of long tube headers for a 96 302, If it were me, I wouldnt swap to shorty headers, the long tubes are supposed to be much better, for power and sound. Unless there's something wrong with them it doesnt make sense to me

Is there something wrong with them now? it's your truck, you do what you want i just dont get payin money to make it less efficient. hedmans website has part number 89358 listed for 80-96 5.0 302.

Well the flowmaster original 40 is not loud at all imo. It sounds pretty good on my 90 f150 with a 302 but I'm not satisfied with the volume of my truck. I think ima go to glasspacks.
