If you get long tubes you're gonna want to make it so you can unbolt a section of the exhaust out so you'll be able to drop the trans if you need to.
If I remember right on my uncles 5.0 f250 the headers came out right around the front of the trans just past where the y-pipe crosses over.

Anyway I'd run and h-pipe, they help build torque and helps flow velocity, though an x pipe brings even more velocity but less torque
makes sense as to why a lot of exhaust products are only listed to fit a 87-95 thanks

I probably wouldnt waste my money buying hi flo cats. Personally if it was me, i'd get my old two if you still have them, hollow them out and put them back on. That way it'll pass visual inspection, but you won't have to spend money on new ones. Actually probably will make it sound better too

Well I don't have any cats in right now, but I'll keep that in mind. Any experience with long tubes?

Well they're better i guess but shortys are alot easier to install from my understanding. Never done headers on an old ford personally, but i'm pretty sure i've read it somewhere it can be a bitch to install longtubes on them
