My truck is loud and deep , loud because it is straight piped, and deep because of the 7" tip made from the stock muffler, just to let you know.. my truck sounds amazing . anyways, like ^ said, bigger pipe makes it deeper, smaller pipe makes it more high pitched and raspy and louder, my truck is single 2 1/4 straight pipe with the first cat gutted and being used as a y pipe, then side dumped before the rear tire passenger side, and goes straight from 2 1/4 to the 7" tip, making it loud and raspy but deep at the same time , it is a very unique sound.

i am putting shorty headers on and my first cat has been knocked out as well i was thinking about going 3 inch pipe and i did look at cherry bombs but i already have had glass packs and i wasn't that impressed but i had a cheap brand so il keep that in mind thanks. Thanks
