Default Equus Code Reader

Sorry guys, I searched and can't find an answer to this question, so here goes...

What is the difference between the Equus 3145 and 3143 code readers?
All that the sellers state is "for most Ford, ..."

I have a 1990 150 with a 5.0. Recently, my aunt gave me her 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis, also with a 5.0. Neither one has thrown an engine light. Just in case, I figured, hey, 2 vehicles that might be able to use the same code reader, I'll bite (I don't wanna count flashes). Anyone know if the 3143/3145 will work on both my 150 and the Marquis?

For anyone who will listen, my aunt was the second owner of the Marquis. She is now in her fifties, and took awesome care of this vehicle.
Never smoked in (well, now that I've had it, it has), interior in wonderful shape, just a few small rust spots on the body. A beautiful auto (I love those big boxy cars, damn shame they don't make 'em like that any more).
I was so lucky to get it.

Well, thanks for any insight on the code readers.

The 3143 is not a digital reader, you count the blinks. The 3145 has the digital display for ease of diagnostics.
