Default Engine wiring question

I just purchased a 95 F150 short bed 4x4 with 302 and 5 speed. The engine runs ok. No check engine light or misses.

im not sure what’s happened. The mass air meter and IAT sensors are not hooked up and the wiring for them is MIA. I found a bundle of three wires with the ends heat shrunk together but the mass air has 4 and the IAT has 2.

ive never had a truck but know a bit about the 5.0 fox body mustangs. On this truck the IAT is on the air filter box.

I don’t understand how it runs fine And has no CEL. I guess someone may have swapped to an earlier model computer but why?

the wiring on this is sorta a mess. It isn’t in the tubing anymore on the drives side and the wiring is just laying there. I figured it wouldn’t be hard to find them, purchase the pigtail and hook them back up and then address the real issues.

I know the CEl on the dash works because it comes on as you crank the engine.

any ideas ?

as you crank? It doesn’t come on key on, but not crank?

I suggest a junkyard harness there is no knowing how a man named Jerry and his inner peanut work without also slowing yourself to his level. Not a good idea

With the key on. Since it seems to run fine, I may just re wrap the harness and work on other issues for now. Keeping my eyes open for harness and or computer.

It is possible that at some point, somebody could have swapped in a motor and harness from a different year truck that uses speed density instead of MAF, check and see if you have a MAP sensor, which should be right above the evaporator core housing on the passenger side of the firewall.
