Should fit right in, is the drag car carb or efi? windsor or cleveland? The aode and c6 should be the same length, and you might need ypipe for the 351w, its a little longer than the 302, I think.
You didn't mention if you have a Manual or Automatic Transmission?
and
The Craigslist Ad didn't say if the 1984 engine is a 351W or a 351M.
It's probably a 351 Windsor engine though.
The legendary 351 Cleveland was last produced in 1974.
The two top holes on the transmission bell-housing and rear two top holes of
the 302, 351W & 351C measure 5 1/8" Center to Center.
The 351M is a different engine block and measures 7-3/4" center to center.
The 351W (Windsor) is wider than the 302 engine and the exhaust will have to be changed.
(351W has bigger heads and a wider intake manifold than the 302.)
In 1985; the Ford 302 engine changed somehow?
I'm not sure how, but there is something different about it...
The 351W rear bolt pattern is the same as your 1992 302 though.
The Computer does not control the shifting or shift points of the C6 transmission.
Vacuum from the engine controls the shift points of the C6 transmission with the help
of a vacuum modulator attached to the side of the C6.
The THROTTLE CABLE and DOWN-SHIFT LINKAGE from the transmission to the engine may be different.
MOTOR MOUNTS may have to be changed ?
Your Instrument Cluster may have to be changed because the (3-speed) C6
has P R N D 2 1 and overdrive transmissions have four forward gears.
Hope this helps!
