Default Engine Swap Question

I have a 95 F-150 Eddie Bauer 5.0 and im thinking about putting in a Police Intercepter 4.6l out of a Crown Vic. Would the motor and transmission mount line up? If not can i get adapters for it. My reasoning behind this is the 4.6 gets 20-25a mpg and i can get the limited slip diff out of if. Any thought?

Lot of work. What about the engine management system? You will have to get a custom harness from Painless wiring i believe.

Anything can be done, but tons of work needed. You're current transmission won't bolt up and that 20-25mpg will drop when the engine has to push more weight of the truck.

I just went from a 5.4 to a 5.0 and I haven't looked back. The stock motor may not be a powerhouse but at least it doesn't sound like it's gonna scatter the rotating assembly everytime you encounter a hill. I've driven several 4.6/5.4s and they all just felt "off" to me.
