Default Engine swap!

For those of you who have been around for a couple of years, you can remember my EGR thread that went on forever, and are well aware that I've been driving a ticking time bomb all this time.

She finally threw a rod through the oil pan... so, here's my question:

My truck was a 1991 2wd, 5.0, with e4od trans, all power options.

I have found a great deal on a 5.8 liter from a 1993 2wd with the same trans and same options.

This is a complete motor with the harness, computer, and all accessories still on it. Will it bolt to my trans? Will it fit up to the exhaust manifolds?

Searching through old posts, I'm seeing conflicting info... sounds like having the 93 computer and harness should be a plus, and I 'think' the trans will bolt up. Any other issues that I should be thinking of?

As always, any advice is greatly appreciated!

i do not believe the exhaust manifolds will bolt on, due to the higher deck height of the 351. you could get the manifold's off of the other truck though, or just buy some headers for it. it's always nice to have a legitimate need for performance parts anyway haha.

I didn't ask that question very well... the new motor has the exhaust manifolds on it too. I was hoping that everything from the manifold back would be close enough to bolt up - I guess you're right though, this could be a good time for headers and true duals!

other than the possibility of flexplate/torque converter and exhaust differences, its bolt in. just check on napaonline.com or something to see if the part numbers are different for the different year/engine parts
