Will I need special headers for it then or can regular 351 headers fit?

The HO version had a 4 bbl carb and a slightly bigger cam. Heads may also be a different design as far as intake runner size and the switch from stud rockers to pedestal.

The exhaust manifolds from a 302 will bolt to the 351w heads but you may run into issues with the y pipe being too short to reach them. If you are doing custom exhaust, then the issue won't be there.

Best upgrade you can do is the cam shaft. A stock engine should be able to handle .500 lift before you need to change valve springs. I got an RV can that .474 intake and .448 exhaust to go with my combo. The numbers crunched it to 250hp and I didn't do the torque numbers yet but I will assume they will be generous. I'm not going all out for horsepower I can't use, but rather focusing on torque to get the truck moving under load.

I am also toying with the idea of doing a 1356/1356 doubler. The front half being the lever controlled section to reduce the gearing and having a bronco electric to engage the 4wd and have a flange on the back to run an expandable drive shaft that will allow for a lot of flex.

What are pedestals? And will they be harder to maintain?
It comes with a holley 4 barrel and intake, so no problem there. Im running LT headers so no issue with exhaust. Though im not sure if I need the O2 sensor or the computer for the matter????
I know the firing order is different but that's easy to change.

Pedestals came out on the D8 heads. They require less maintenance and adjusting compared to older stud mount rockers.

If you are keeping the egr system, then you will need the computer and O2 sensors, if you are just going to run a carb, it won't be needed.

I still think you would benefit from an HEI style distributor to eliminate the need for the Dura Spark that ford had. You would just need one wire that has power with the key on and is off with key off. You also have a tab to run a tach and a vacuum advance on the side. It has a standard Chevy HEI cap/coil/and ignition module so replacement/spare parts are cheap and widely available.
