Default Engine missing

I have 1988 F150 5.0. Cranks fine, soon as I give it gas it begins to miss ALOT. To the point now it is not drivable. I checked the fuel pressure at idle is around 33 psi. I have changed the spark plugs and the wires along with the distributor cap. Any help before I start buying more parts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check your spark plug wire routing. Cross fire could be your issue. Pull the engine codes. They'll tell you where to look hopefully.

Does your check engine light come on when you turn your key to the on position? It could be burnt out or missing. It's more difficult to troubleshoot these trucks without trouble codes.

Yes the light does come on when I turn the key. But it is not throwing any codes or coming on when the engine begins missing. The fuel pumps in the tanks and the high pressure fuel pump are all new…. Installed within the past two years.

Just because the CEL isn't on, does not mean there are no codes. So you can still try to pull some codes.
Easiest way to check the fuel system is by sticking a pressure gauge on it, just because the pumps are new, does not mean they are good. And I would verify ignition timing as well.

I do agree with putting a reader on it… I did check the fuel pressure… it was reading around 33 psi at idle.
